'Out of Work' career advice podcast premiere
This article is at least a year old
Brooklyn NY, USA—On Monday, the hosts of 'Out of Work’ launched their new show, aimed at helping real people with real problems they face in today’s job market. The premise is simple: what do you do when you desperately need a new job, especially as recruiters and companies throw more and more obstacles in front of you along the way?
In 'Out of Work', co-hosts and real-life friends Camille Mann Schuster and Mitch Goulding share their own horror stories, from the moment they were laid off through all the homework assignments, rounds of interviews and eventual success they found in the search.
Each episode focuses on one trend in the current job market - inviting an expert directly related to that field to discuss, demystify and ultimately help jobseekers cross the finish line.
“When we hit the job market, we both found that the interview process had changed so much since we first applied ten years ago. Homework assignments, never-ending rounds of interviews, and recruiters simply cutting off contact feel increasingly normal. And we wanted to go directly to the source to find out why,” said Goulding.
Mann Schuster and Goulding each have 10+ years of experience at global media and tech brands.
“We were just looking to put together a show that feels real,” Mann-Schuster said. “Everyone says 'be positive’ or 'be patient’ and that just doesn’t feel like an honest way to approach your career, which is ultimately such an important part of your life.”
The first episode of 'Out of Work’ premiered Monday, October 7th, New episodes are released weekly every Monday on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Spotify and Stitcher.
