PodX Group acquires majority stake in Oronda Studio

Oronda Studio, one of Mexico’s most successful podcast studios, joins PodX Group, the Stockholm based leading international podcast group, dedicated to investing in global podcast companies and intellectual property rights.

Founded in 2021, Oronda Studio has rapidly become one of Latin America’s foremost podcast creators, known for its audio-first storytelling and expertise in video podcasts. They have collaborated with Wondery, Spotify, Universal Music, and Universal Pictures, creating chart-topping shows and content for diverse audiences and brands. One of their most notable achievements was winning the Premio Gabo, the most prestigious journalism award for Portuguese and Spanish-speaking countries, for their audio documentary “Las mujeres valientes: Guii Chanaa” (The Brave Women), co-created with Nayelli Lopez Reyes, an indigenous woman from Oaxaca.

This marks the second Latin American company to join the group. PodX Group has made a number of notable acquisitions in the podcast industry, such as Posta in Argentina, Studio Minuit and Nouvelles Écoutes in France, Filt, Perfect Day and Suomen Podcastmedia in the Nordics and Goldhawk Productions, Listen and Platform Media in the UK.
