Trust us, this is not another crime podcast
Get ready to gasp at a world where truth is wilder than fiction, laughter meets intrigue and best friends cover the unexpected, as Journalist Georgia Love and comedian Sammy Petersen launch their brand-new show, Not Another Crime Podcast, in partnership with iHeart.
Not Another Crime Podcast sees Georgia’s journalistic skills put to the test as she presents riveting true crime stories to Sammy, which he is blissfully clueless about. Cue his genuine shock and curiosity. With each story interjected with personal anecdotes and paired with the duo’s unmatched BFF chemistry, this show is truly not like any other crime podcast you’ve ever heard before…
Each Monday, the pair will catch up to unpack a jaw-dropping case as only best friends would - over a relaxed wine and a lot of laughs, with a bonus treat episode released every Thursday. The first two episodes are out now and available on all your favourite streaming apps, opening with an episode all about The Parker-Hulme Murder Case. The first Thursday treat will also feature special guest and media personality Georgie Tunny.
On launching the new show, Georgia Love said “I have always had a huge fascination with true crime, both through and prior to my work as a reporter. I love discussing cases with friends and thought that probably means others do too! True crime junkies may think they already have their favourite go-to podcast (so do I!), but this is something completely different to what’s out there. We don’t just tell true crime stories, we’ll be sharing a drink and a yap with our listeners while discussing the gossip, grit and gore of the crimes we find most fascinating. Sammy is the funniest person I know and this podcast was the perfect way to bottle up his energy and humour. We can’t wait to discuss the juiciest, most fascinating and most WTF crimes with our listeners - it is NOT just “another crime podcast” after all!”
Sammy Petersen added “G and I both realised how fascinated we were by true crime. I’ve worked on comedy podcasts for a long time but have always been drawn to true crime stories. We were both chatting about our favourite podcasts and G was already telling me the most interesting stories she knew of…then we started thinking ‘why aren’t there more light-hearted true crime podcasts?’ We wanted to create dinner party conversation for those people like us who are fascinated by what we are. Note: there will be no eating on the podcast.”
Grab your headphones, pour a glass, and take a listen — Not Another Crime Podcast is now available on the free iHeart app or wherever you get your podcasts.
