Inside the Most Daring Jewel Theft in History, ‘Heist at the Louvre’ Premieres Sep 28

Today, the ABC News Podcast Network and “20/20” announced the thrilling new podcast series Heist at the Louvre, hosted by ABC News’ chief international correspondent and “What You Need to Know” host James Longman, premiering Monday, Sept. 28.

The series unpacks how thieves were able to pull off one of the most daring jewel heists in history, with Longman following the investigation and its aftermath to try to answer the central question: where are the Crown Jewels now?

“Heist at the Louvre” takes listeners inside the jewel theft that stunned the world at the iconic Louvre Museum. Through unprecedented access, Longman will not only reveal what the suspects are telling police about the crime, but also explore what is next in the investigation.

The series documents the day of the heist, with first-hand accounts from eyewitnesses and analysis from art crime experts explaining how the most famous museum in the world could be robbed in broad daylight.

Longman then follows the investigation into the Parisian criminal underworld, finding sources close to the suspects to learn who they are and where they came from, and examines what the heist has revealed about a museum – and a nation - after one of the biggest crimes of the century.
