Tandon Productions, a Los Angeles based audio production company, focused on bringing new voices to the multi-media landscape, announces their newest audio fiction podcast, Life On Pause: A Quarantine Anthology.
The seven part interconnected anthology series was produced entirely during the worldwide Coronavirus lockdown, and brought together 26 creatives from 4 different countries, including 7 different states in the US. Each episode of the interconnected anthology series exists in a world where a disease known as Pale Fever has forced the world to live inside. Each story explores a different household formed at an unexpected lockdown three years after the isolation has become the new normal. No panic, no updates: just life inside.
Each episode, ranging from 30 to 45 minutes, asks one question: How do we find connection in a world where physical proximity isn’t possible?
A number of writers were asked to approach that question, including creator Marissa Tandon (Austin Film Festival recognized writer of Super Ordinary, The Sword & The Stoner, His Royal Fakin’ Highness), Gabriel Urbina (Webby Award nominated writer of Wolf 359, Zero Hours, and Unseen), Writer/Actress Miya Kodama, Alex Whisenhunt (His Royal Fakin’ Highness), and London based writer Beth Crane (We Fix Space Junk, BBC’s Murmurs, Historic Royal Palaces’ Outliers).
The cast of 22 actors includes Scotty Shoemaker (Wolf 359, The AM Archives), Felix Trench (Wooden Overcoats), Jim France (Stargirl, The Resident), Miya Kodama (Grey’s Anatomy, Super Ordinary) and Grammy Award winning musician Tona, who performs her own music in the show.
From Creator, Marissa Tandon: “After the Corona Virus lockdowns began to sweep the globe, we were overwhelmed by the amount of doom and gloom that took over our social media feeds, and the lack of human connection we personally felt. But the lockdowns gave us all two things: time, and a quick learning curve when it came to using the internet and technology for communication. I reached out to some of my favorite creators, and we opened our first world wide casting call, as we worked to create a show about the lockdown that was uplifting and explored what we were all feeling as we continued to remain locked inside, away from our typical methods of creating.”
Life on Pause was born out of a desire to remain collaborative and creative while the coronavirus lockdown took away stages, in person recording, and filming from creatives all over the world. Tandon Productions aimed to bring together writers, actors, musicians, and comedians that had lost access to their stage, and find a way to bring them together to do what they do best: tell stories.
The trailer for Life On Pause is available now on all podcast platforms, and the first episode, “Mary,” written by Gabriel Urbina, and starring Scotty Shoemaker, Dallas Boudreaux, and Tona, premieres December 10th.
