Washington DC, USA—Podcast network Lantigua Williams & Co., today welcomes Birthful, a show created and hosted by advanced birth doula, postpartum educator, and child sleep consultant Adriana Lozada (pictured above). Launched in December 2014, and nearing 300 episodes, the weekly podcast has garnered 3 million+ downloads, earned critical accolades, and amassed scores of loyal listeners.

“Birthful will continue to provide the informative interviews and inspiring birth stories that our listeners expect. And we’ll be more intentional in representing a broader range of experiences and showcasing diverse voices,” Lozada said. “We’re ready to move beyond simply helping people navigate a system and cultural ideals that are broken, paternalistic, and oppressive. We’re going to expose the flaws and talk about what we can all do to change it.”

The most popular topics include choosing a doula, mastering breastfeeding, navigating hospitals, baby sleep, and the role of partners. Lozada crafts every episode with an eye for curating information while offering real-world examples that can take some of the anxiety away from a transformational experience that can be both magical and overwhelming.

“Ultimately, we want all new and expectant parents to have the empowering births and nourishing postpartum experiences they deserve,” Lozada says.

Lantigua Williams & Co. CEO Juleyka Lantigua-Williams sees the addition of Birthful as an important step in serving the network’s intended audience. “We aspire to be among the first places educated black and brown women go to for information, inspiration, and community. Birthful brings an abundance of all three elements.”

“I couldn’t have found a better home than Lantigua Williams & Co.,” Loozada said. “They recognize the immense value Birthful brings to our listeners, and I’m still in disbelief that I have a world-class team of supportive, passionate, and knowledgeable producers to help create this new phase of Birthful. They’re my podcast doulas!” The Birthful team includes senior producer Paulina Velasco, managing producer Virginia Lora, and lead producer Cedric Willson.

Lozada gives her listeners tools to inform their intuition. As one listener put it, “Birthful is my weekly dose of I can do this.”
