Kentucky Hidden Wonders uncovers the best-kept secrets of the Bluegrass state

Press Release · Shelbyville, KY 40065, USA ·

A new podcast about the Bluegrass State goes beyond the usual tourist attractions and into the heart of Kentucky’s hidden gems. Produced by ShelbyKY Tourism, Kentucky Hidden Wonders is hosted by CEO and President Janette Marson and Director of Marketing and Public Relations Mason Warren. New episodes of Kentucky Hidden Wonders will be released bi-weekly.

_“_Whether you’re a Kentucky native, a curious traveler, or someone looking for your next road trip idea, Kentucky Hidden Wonders will inspire you to explore the rich culture, outdoor adventures, and undiscovered beauty of the Bluegrass State,” says Kentucky Hidden Wonders Co-host Janette Marson. _“_Each 30-minute episode explores off-the-beaten-path destinations, secret hiking trails, charming local businesses, fascinating history, and must-visit spots in Shelby County and beyond.”

Kentucky Hidden Wonders’ first episode is about the transformative power of equine therapy with HorseSensing Founder and Exec. Director Dr. Sally Broder. In 2020, HorseSensing blossomed into a refuge for many, particularly veterans and men recovering from addiction. “In this episode of Kentucky Hidden Wonders, Dr. Sally Broder highlights poignant stories, particularly that of Chris Carl, an Army veteran who experienced profound changes within the program. Initially burdened by serious anxiety and PTSD, his journey unfolded through his bond with a horse that shared parallel struggles. Chris is now the education director at HorseSensing—a testament to his transformation in the Saddlebred Capital of the World,” adds Kentucky Hidden Wonders co-host Mason Warren.

Future guests include Darlene Snow, Exec. Director, Shelby Main Street; Cyndi Skellie, Festival Chair of the Shelby County Dogwood Festival and Exec. Director of Shelby County Comm. Theatre; Helen McKinney, Exec. Director, Shelby County Historical Society; and Matt Burnett, Owner, Wakefield-Scearce Galleries.
