Madrid, February 1st, 2022. Podimo, Europe’s leading audio entertainment platform, has announced the appointment of Juan Galiardo as its new Country Manager in Spain with the objective of leading the growth of the podcast and audiobook platform in Spain. Galiardo comes from Uber, where he has held the position of head of the company in Spain for the last 4 and a half years.

With a degree in business administration and management from ESADE, Juan Galiardo has extensive experience in project management in the new digital economy, as well as in the operational management of internal processes and strong commercial skills. In addition to leading Uber’s strategy in Spain, Galiardo was the head of operations for the mobility company for almost 3 years.

The executive also has experience as an entrepreneur thanks to the creation of the intelligent communication services platform NOYSI 6 years ago, in which he is an active investor, as well as a member of the board of directors. Previously, he was a strategic consultant at Delta Partners.

“We are proud to have a prestigious professional of the stature of Juan Galiardo to lead our growth in Spain. At Podimo we are firmly committed to the creation of audio content in Spanish, and we believe that the experience of Galiardo, who has amply demonstrated his potential in recent years, will be a differential value to continue our growth," states Morten Strunge, CEO and co-founder of Podimo.

Juan Galiardo joins Podimo with the aim of leading the business development strategy in Spain, a market position from which he will further enhance the creation and production of Spanish-language content in which Podimo has already invested more than 2M euros in acquiring exclusive Spanish content. In these 7 years I have been lucky enough to work with a fantastic team on a unique project. Today I feel that the time has come to switch to another emerging sector with enormous growth potential. I am very excited about my incorporation to Podimo as Country Manager for Spain and I hope to continue contributing to the Spanish digital ecosystem from my new position. Thank you very much to all of you who have accompanied me in these years”, stated Juan Galiardo, new Country Manager for Podimo Spain.

On the other hand, Podimo has announced that Javier Celaya, who led the company’s landing in Spain almost two years ago, creating a team of 14 people and launching the Premium service with a catalog of more than 200 exclusive programs of podcasts in Spanish, will become responsible for managing the international expansion in Latin America, one of the most ambitious projects of the platform globally.

“Javier Celaya’s role has been key in the development of Podimo in the Spanish market, having positioned the company as a benchmark in record time and signing some of the most relevant content creators out there. Now it is time for him to lead in one of the company’s most ambitious projects at a global level: the development of the Latin American market,” says Strunge.
