New York City NY, USA—Exactly Right Media, in partnership with top podcast listening service and content network Stitcher (“Heaven’s Gate,” “The Dream”), released the trailer for “Jensen & Holes: The Murder Squad.” The show, which premieres April 1, is the first new, original series to come out of the Exactly Right Media network, created by Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, hosts of hit podcast “My Favorite Murder.”

On “Jensen & Holes: The Murder Squad,” investigative journalist Billy Jensen and retired cold case investigator Paul Holes look into solved and unsolved missing persons cases, joined by a special guest.

Listeners ride shotgun with Jensen and Holes as they take an unsolved case and attempt to solve it using a variety of methods: from routine investigative techniques to advanced technologies including familial DNA searches, social media geotargeting, and radioisotope analysis. Listeners also hear about cases that have been solved – either a missing person found, or human remains, known as Does (John or Jane), identified – using novel and creative methods.

Unlike other true crime shows, Jensen and Holes enlist the help of listeners through social media and their website, presenting the facts of the case along with any relevant materials, and then giving guidelines on how to investigate the case from home. Listeners can then provide their findings and theories to the hosts for them to follow up. When a missing person is identified or a case is solved, a case recap is presented to review the tips and clues that came in and contributed to the breakthrough.

“Karen and I could not be more excited to welcome 'Jensen & Holes: The Murder Squad’ to the Exactly Right Network. The combination of a career investigator and investigative journalist was ideal to give listeners exactly what they want — an intimate view into cold cases and the chance to put their skills to good use. We can’t wait to see where the show leads and what kind of impact it has,” said Georgia Hardstark.

About Paul Holes

Paul recently retired as a Cold Case Investigator after spending over 27 years working for the Sheriff and District Attorney’s Offices during his tenure in Contra Costa County located in the Bay Area, California. Specializing in cold case and serial predator crimes, Paul has extensive experience spanning 27 years applying investigative, behavioral, and forensic expertise in notable cases such as Zodiac, Golden State Killer, Laci Peterson, and Jaycee Dugard.

Paul is frequently sought out by investigators to consult on the most complex and high profile cases and has played a part in putting several serial predators on Death Row such as Darryl Kemp, Joseph Naso, and Joseph Cordova Jr.

As an FBI Task Force Officer, Paul teamed with FBI personnel and recently completed a 24 year pursuit by leading a small team, using innovative technology, that identified Joseph DeAngelo as the Golden State Killer, the most prolific and cunning serial predator in U.S. history.

About Billy Jensen

Billy Jensen was a true crime journalist focused squarely on unsolved murders and missing persons. But after 17 years of writing hundreds of stories with no endings, he was fed up--and decided to try and solve the murders and find the missing himself. And it worked. Combining the shoe leather investigative tenacity and skills he learned reporting crime with radical social media techniques, Jensen has solved or helped solve ten homicides. Law enforcement agencies now reach out to Jensen to help in cases that have them stumped, using him as a “consulting detective.”

The New York native has written crime stories for Rolling Stone, Los Angeles Magazine, the Long Island Press and the New York Times. He was a producer and investigator on the Warner Bros. show Crime Watch Daily, where he covered the Allenstown 4 murders, the Humboldt 5, the gap in the system when it comes to missing persons and unidentified remains and the unique talents of citizen detectives.

A friend of Michelle McNamara’s, Jensen helped finish her book on the Golden State Killer, “I’ll Be Gone in the Dark,” along with McNamara’s researcher and husband.
