We are now in the early stages of something we’ve never seen before: a global pandemic. Social isolation and economic uncertainty have left us scrambling to understand our new normal and wondering what the future holds. Healthcare leader, turnaround expert, and #stayhome architect Andy Slavitt is making it his mission to give Americans critical information in real-time but also hope for a path forward. He reminds us of what we can achieve and the deep sense of solidarity that we need during these trying times. Andy will be joined each week by leading scientists, cultural icons, and political leaders—together, they will help us process, understand, and adjust to the changes around us.

“One privilege I have is that most people return my calls. I have a pact with myself that every conversation I have with an insider, whether in the White House, the Senate, or media, or with a scientist or a CEO that is of use to people, I will share,” said Slavitt. “That’s why I thought it was a perfect time to launch a podcast with Lemonada. I picture people sitting around together, being able to listen to relevant facts in context. I hope to provide some strength to get through these really confusing times. So while I will be interviewing people you need to hear from and explaining what I think, I also plan to share a little joy as well.”

“Andy has been such a calming and clear voice during the most confusing time in recent American history, like Churchill from his war room, and Lemonada is dedicated to creating content and communities that help people get through the most pressing human issues of our time,” said CEO Jess Cordova Kramer. “We see this show as part nonpartisan truth-telling and part hope, helping Americans and people all over the world process information through Andy’s trusted filter, from his home in Minnesota, and helping us get through what’s to come together,” explained Stephanie Wittels Wachs, Lemonada’s Chief Creative Officer.

Slavitt has led some of the largest private and public sector health care initiatives in recent decades. Slavitt was appointed by former President Obama to serve as the Acting Administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), a position he held from 2015-2017. He first came to public view as the lead firefighter, overseeing the turnaround and re-launch of Healthcare.gov. He’s been named to the Politico 50, has been recognized as one of the 10 most influential people in health care and has one of the largest and most influential accounts on Twitter. Today, Slavitt is dedicated to building a sustainable, high-quality health care system that is available to all Americans. Slavitt is the founder and Board Chair of non-profit United States of Care and is a General Partner at Town Hall Ventures, which sparks innovation in vulnerable communities. He writes a regular column for USA Today and frequently appears on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, and NPR. Slavitt is a graduate of the College of Arts Sciences and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and received an MBA from Harvard Business School. Slavitt lives in his bubble in Edina, Minnesota with his wife Lana and his two young-adult sons.

Award-winning podcaster Jessica Cordova Kramer and best-selling author Stephanie Wittels Wachs joined forces in spring 2019 to form Lemonada Media, offering an unfiltered version of the human experience and a slate of podcasts that make life suck less. They recently wrapped Season One of the chart-topping and award-nominated “Last Day,” their first of five original series, followed by “As Me with Sinéad,” “Good Kids: How Not to Raise an A**Hole,” “Mouthpeace with Michael and Pele Bennett” and “In the Bubble with Andy Slavitt.” Transcripts of each episode are available on their website the week each episode airs.

Westwood One, the national-facing arm of CUMULUS MEDIA, offers iconic, nationally syndicated sports, news and entertainment content to over 250 million monthly listeners across an audio network of nearly 8,000 affiliated broadcast radio stations and media partners.
