This article is at least a year old

iHeartMedia, the No. 1 commercial podcast publisher globally, and Emmy Award-winning, multiplatform host Dan Patrick today announced a partnership to launch The Dan Patrick Podcast Network. The agreement includes a slate of iHeartRadio original podcasts that will be co-produced by Patrick, iHeartRadio and Workhouse Media.

“Who doesn’t love a great story!” said Patrick. “I love that I can introduce great storytellers through my partnership with iHeartRadio. Conal Byrne and his team have been outstanding in helping us pull together our launch slate of podcasts in sports and entertainment. I’m also thrilled that one of them, ‘The Battle for L.A,’ is already partnered for television and film with first-in-class, Oscar-winning Michael Sugar and his phenomenal team at Sugar23. I promise nobody is going to be bored with these shows.”

“At Sugar23, we pride ourselves on telling impactful stories, and couldn’t think of better partners to bring those stories to life than Dan and the incredible team at iHeartRadio,” said Michael Sugar. “We’re excited to be in business with these amazing creators, who will continue to bolster our ability to be storytellers in any medium.”

“We couldn’t be happier to work with a legendary broadcaster like Dan Patrick,” said Conal Byrne, President of the iHeartPodcast Network. “iHeartRadio is dedicated to offering a wide variety of programing that connects with and engages audiences across all genres. This is an exciting partnership, and we look forward to introducing this new slate of podcasts with many more to come!”

Three new podcasts will launch soon as a part of the partnership:

“The Battle For LA” – from Joy Road Entertainment, “The Battle For L.A.” tells the story of the birth of professional basketball in Los Angeles and how the city’s two disparate franchises helped shape not just the NBA, but shifted the influence of sports and culture to the West Coast. The podcast will examine the personal and professional rivalries of those who played, coached and owned both the Lakers and Clippers and how it created a fanbase whose love of the game came to define their city. This project is currently being developed for television and film by Sugar23.

“Two Guys From Hollywood” (subtitled “We Don’t Dish, We Serve”) – a weekly podcast from literary agent Alan Nevins and celebrity chef and columnist Joey Santos, friends for more than 30 years who grew up in Hollywood observing not just the entertainment industry, but the people who flock there. These two professionals have worked within the elite circles of some of the biggest stars and wealthiest people for decades, attending parties, dinners and traveling with their clients, and each episode focuses on their own journey through LaLa land including pop culture, books, movies, drinking, food and the occasional guest appearance from their famous friends.

“Meeting Tom Cruise” – “Meeting Tom Cruise” – Hosted by die-hard Cruise fans Jeff Meacham (“John Oppenhol” on the hit ABC comedy Black•ish) and Joel Johnstone (“Archie Clearly” on the Emmy-Award winning series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), this weekly podcast features celebrity guests telling their own incredible stories about meeting the legendary star. Meacham and Johnston also debate Cruise’s films, respond to listener questions, and report on a thing they call Cruise News – the latest news about (in their words) “the greatest movie star of all time.”

iHeartMedia and Dan Patrick will commit marketing resources to promote the podcasts across the iHeartPodcast Network and other iHeartMedia broadcast and digital platforms, as well as The Dan Patrick Show, which is syndicated by FOX Sports Radio on more than 360 affiliates across the country, in addition to streaming on iHeartRadio, SiriusXM Channel 211, and an exclusive video simulcast on Peacock.

iHeartRadio is available on more than 2,000 different connected devices — including smart speakers, digital auto dashes, tablets, wearables, smartphones, virtual assistants, televisions and gaming consoles. Visit iHeart.com/apps to download iHeartRadio and listen on your favorite device.

Dan Patrick is represented by Paul Anderson of Workhouse Media, Inc.
