As a dedicated supporter of women at every stage of their lives, HELLO! is using its experience tofuel the with-purpose Second Act franchise, launched in 2024. Second Act was designed to reframe middle age as the start of a new beginning rather than the beginning of an end and supports, inspires and energises HELLO!’s huge midlife audience in their journey of self-discovery.
This generation of midlifers see life post-forty as an exciting second act, with more free time, greater life experience, plenty of disposable income and a solid sense of self – their potential is limitless.
Building on the success of HELLO!’s existing podcast business, with nearly seven million downloads to date, the Second Act podcast brings another dimension to the portfolio, with actionable and relatable content specifically designed for all aspects of midlife – careers to caring, sustaining relationships and beginning new ones, health, wellness and a wealth of interests besides. Built for the growing numbers of women who use podcasts as a vital source of connection, Second Act moves from strength to strength.
HELLO!’s Chief Content Officer, Sophie Vokes-Dudgeon, a passionate campaigner for the reframing of midlife, says ‘When all the noise around midlife began to sound negative and pessimistic, HELLO! launched Second Act to reframe that narrative. Understanding the significant physical, mental and emotional changes for women in midlife, but seeing this stage as the start of an exciting second chance - one where we really know who we are and what we want. Second Act has found an optimistic audience, eager to connect with us, our experts and each other to make sure their next chapter is as bold and fulfilling as it can be.’
