#Impact Podcast - One cup of coffee with impact coming right up!
This article is at least a year old
2 microphones, a laptop, a bold vision and approximately 100 big cups of coffee - that’s what fueled #impact Podcast when it was first launched by Viennese born Regina Larko from her tiny Hong Kong Island bedroom back in spring 2017.
The #impact Podcast - A Podcast about stuff that matters, one of Hong Kong’s most popular Podcasts, a Golden Crane Awards 2020 Honorary , ranking in the top 10% of all Podcasts globally, is leveraging the power of voice to drive positive change.
Since the launch #impact has aired more than 150 episodes, covering the work of over 70 purpose driven organisations. Local NGOs like ImpactHK and Mother’s Choice, Teen’s Key, LumiVoce, Animals Asia Foundation and Redress shared their inspiring, intimate audio stories, which has helped them to find new supporters, donors and collaboration partners.
In the past year the Podcasting community has grown immensely in Hong Kong, and #impact played a big role in this development too. As a leader in Podcasting education in Hong Kong, #impact Podcast founder Regina Larko has coached, mentored and encouraged numerous of the new Podcasters that entered the Hong Kong market recently.
Since 2020, Larko runs empowering Online Podcasting Courses, Trainings and Masterminds that give back. With each sold Podcasting Online Course, she makes the course available for free to a Non-Profit organisation - a Podcasting Fellowship with long-term impact. The first charity that joined the programme, KELY Support Group, has successfully launched their own production, This Hong Kong Life.
“That’s the triple impact of our purpose-driven Podcasting Platform. Firstly, are we raising awareness for social issues on our own flagship production #impact, that covers innovative change makers working on the Sustainable Development Goals. Secondly, our Podcasting Trainings attract people that are committed to leverage audio storytelling for making positive impacts in the world. And thirdly, our Podcasting Fellowship allows our NGO beneficiaries to start spreading their messages on their own Podcast too.” shares Larko.
But there is even more. With the re-launch of #impact Club Larko will bring the community of changemakers even closer together. “Once a month we will meet for a virtual coffee break to celebrate the small and big wins. Changemaker burnout is all too real. At #impact Club we create a safe place for our Podcast guests, listeners and community members to connect, celebrate and reflect on how far they have come already.”
With this #impact founder Larko continues chasing after her bold goal to create a community where every changemaker “on this earth” feels at home.
