Good Tape Unveils Its Cover to “The Threat Issue” Featuring Bona Fide Multiple Threat Nicole Byer; Subscriptions Now Available
Good Tape today announced Nicole Byer as the cover star for its much-anticipated third edition, publishing on November 7, 2025. As a comedian, actress, recreational pole dancer, and host of several podcasts, including “Why Won’t You Date Me?,” “Newcomers,” and “Best Friends,” Byer leads with authenticity, mischief, and joy. Byer is a bona fide multiple threat in the entertainment industry, and she’s done it by simply being herself.
Good Tape is also pleased to announce a new subscription plan for podcasters and industry professionals, offering direct access to its annual print magazine, member-only digital content, and inclusion in its community initiatives through Off The Record.
A subscription to Good Tape doubles as a pre-order to The Threat Issue, which features notable writers such as Roqayah Chamseddine, Opheli Garcia Lawler, Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya, and Brianna Wellen, as well as artists Natascha Baumgärtner, Margaret Flatley, and María Medem.
“Brought to life by bright journalists and bold artists, the latest issue of Good Tape is our best yet,” says Becca James, Good Tape’s managing editor. “It’s a snapshot of the medium as we confront the threats shaping our industry and the world around it. We consider collapsing systems and creative resistance, highlighting people who are redefining what’s possible in podcasting. If you care about this community, Good Tape is the publication you should be reading.”
“‘The Threat Issue’ continues our mission at Good Tape, which is to highlight the vital conversations people in our industry are already having at the ground level, and help us think critically about where to go next,” says Dane Cardiel, founder of Good Tape. “We’re thrilled to begin this next chapter.”
