The Golden Mike Awards® Welcome New Digital And Podcast Categories
For the first time in its 76-year history the Radio & Television News Association of Southern California (RTNA) has opened its coveted awards program to independent podcast producers, content creators, and streaming platforms from around the country. The Golden Mike Award® is the longest running broadcast news award in the United States.
The Golden Mike Award® is one of the most prestigious and difficult to win – the judging criteria are among the strictest in the broadcast industry and the entries are adjudicated by news, broadcast, and media professionals from around the United States.
Submit your best work from September 1, 2024, to October 3, 2025.

New Podcast Categories include Best Interview Podcast, Best Limited Series Podcast, and Best Open Topic Podcast. New Digital Categories include Best Breaking News, Best News Coverage, and Best News Coverage via Social Media. And for the first time streaming platforms are welcome to enter a new category, Best Documentary on a Streaming Platform.
The streaming category is open to producers around the United States whose work has appeared on major platforms like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Paramount+, etc., and local / network television news platforms like NBC, Fox, ABC, CNN, NewsNation, and CBS. Print outlets that meet digital criteria are welcome to enter. (Must meet entry requirements)

- Late Entry Deadline: October 10, 2025, 11:59 PM PT
- Judging Begins: October 17, 2025
