University of Bedfordshire podcast for budding broadcasters is back for season two

PRESS RELEASE — September 26, 2019

The University of Bedfordshire’s award-winning community radio station RadioLaB 97.1FM has launched season two of a podcast aimed at helping anyone interested in creating exciting radio content.

Returning for its second year, the Fantastic Noise podcast, created by Radio LaB Coordinator Terry Lee, is the topical radio podcast for budding broadcasters featuring experts in the field.

In an interview format, those already working in the broadcasting industry will be discussing their careers and give guidance to anyone looking to follow in their footsteps.

Speaking of his selection of guests, Host Terry Lee said: “The professional radio and audio world is full of smart, super-qualified, lovely people with tips and advice to share. By hearing these experts share their stories and wisdom in the podcast series, I hope listeners feel inspired and also benefit from real industry insight.”

Season two of Fantastic Noise began on 24 September and will feature five episodes released every Tuesday.

Themes featured in season two are Breakfast Radio, Sound Design, Comedy, Children’s Audio and Storytelling. Guests include the BBC Three Counties Breakfast team, Julia McKenzie, Head of Radio Comedy at BBC Studios, and Fun Kids radio presenter Bex Lindsay.

Terry Lee said: “By building the episodes of each podcast around professional-practice and expert opinions, whilst always keeping the language and content accessible, Fantastic Noise is an interesting and informative series for those looking to work in radio and audio in the near future.”

Previous guests have included award-winning podcast creator Eva Krysiak, producer of BBC Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine show Tim Johns and Emma Jones from Absolute Radio’s Breakfast Show.

The podcast can be found at fantasticnoise.podbean.com or via your favourite podcast app (Spotify, iPhone, etc).
