Family Ghosts Podcast makes long-awaited return

Dallas TX, New York NY, US—Family Ghosts has returned for its much anticipated second season. The popular podcast, which has been called “utterly absorbing” by Apartment Therapy, launched its new season on Wednesday, dropping two new episodes - the first installments in a three-part series on the Love Family Cult.
“Our team has worked so hard to build on the vision we laid out in our first season, and I’m so thrilled that listeners will finally get to hear the fruits of those efforts,” said Family Ghosts creator and host, Sam Dingman. “We’ve done our best to assemble a diverse, eclectic array of stories and storytelling styles to share with the Ghost Family.”
Dingman, who has been a producer for WNYC’s On the Media, senior editor of You Must Remember This, and was the founding producer of Bad With Money With Gaby Dunn, has been working on the new batch of episodes for nearly 2 years, alongside an all-star team of producers from across podcasts & public radio, including Kirya Traber, Lindsey Kratochwill, Posey Gruener, Meara Sharma, Jennifer Lai, Jacob Smith, Odelia Rubin, Janielle Kastner, Micaela Bly and more.
The 10-episode (plus bonuses) season will investigate a diverse array of family legends. A psychedelic commune, internment camp survivors, a long-lost stack of secret love letters, a scandalous affair, something called the Chinese Food Incident - all will feature in the second season of Family Ghosts. But despite the sensational storylines, the podcast maintains a very personal, human and touching overtone. It’s understandable why Family Ghosts was named an Editor’s Pick by NPROne, has been called a “quirky meditation” by the LA Times, and why the Irish Times says “It feels like listening to an especially fascinating acquaintance telling a long story in a pub, through the lens of a 1990s American high-school comedy.”
