Amplitude Media Partners (AMP) Announces Exclusive Sales Partnership With Hit True Crime Podcast “Criminology”
Amplitude Media Partners (AMP) has entered into an exclusive advertising sales partnership with Criminology, the acclaimed, long-running true crime podcast hosted by Mike Ferguson and Mike Morford. Under the partnership, AMP will represent all advertising opportunities for the independently produced series, while simultaneously providing operational support and programmatic optimization services.
Since its debut in 2017, Criminology has built a devoted audience through its detailed examinations of some of history’s most notorious crimes, along with compelling cases that have received far less public attention. Ferguson and Morford combine meticulous research with thoughtful storytelling to explore the people, evidence and unanswered questions behind each case.
The podcast originally devoted full seasons to individual cases, including the Zodiac Killer and the Golden State Killer, before evolving into its current weekly format. Today, its extensive catalog contains more than 400 episodes, with new installments released every Saturday night.
“Criminology is exactly the kind of independently built, audience-driven show AMP was created to support,” said Marques Pfaff, Managing Partner at Amplitude Media Partners. “Mike and Morf are exceptional storytellers who have earned the trust of a remarkably loyal audience through years of thoughtful, detailed work. We’ve known Morf and worked with Criminology in the past, so this partnership feels like a reunion as much as a new beginning. John, Reggie and I are incredibly excited to work with the show again and provide the personal attention, responsiveness and high level of service that its continued growth deserves.”
The partnership reunites Morford with Pfaff and fellow AMP partners John Donahue and Reggie Risseeuw, who worked with him earlier in their podcast advertising careers. That existing relationship gives AMP a deep understanding of the show, its audience and the type of advertiser partnerships that best complement its content.
“I’ve known Marques, John and Reggie for years and have seen firsthand how seriously they take both the shows they represent and the relationships behind them,” said Morford. “They understand Criminology, they understand our audience and, most importantly, we know we’ll receive the kind of personal attention that can be difficult to find in this industry. Mike and I are excited to work with people we already know and trust as we continue growing the show.”
Beyond Criminology, both hosts have established significant footprints throughout the true crime podcasting genre. Ferguson also co-hosts the popular True Crime All the Time and True Crime All the Time Unsolved. Morford is the founder of the independent true crime podcast network AbJack Entertainment and has created, hosted or produced numerous series, including Missing Persons, Zodiac Speaking and Killer Communications.
Through its partnership with AMP, Criminology will offer advertisers access to a deeply engaged true crime audience alongside a hands-on sales and support team focused on developing thoughtful, effective campaigns that respect the show, its listeners and the victims of the crimes being examined.
