Press Release · New York, United States ·

Dead Signals, the production company behind critically acclaimed hit podcasts “Archive 81” (adapted into the 2022 Netflix series of the same name), “The Deep Vault,” and concept album “Generation Crossing,” is thrilled to announce the release of their new audio drama, Conversations with Ghosts

Created by celebrated storytellers Marc Sollinger and Dan Powell, “Conversations with Ghosts” plucks personalities from history to explore what we leave behind when we pass on. Dead Signals’ first narrative podcast since “Archive 81,” will be available on Wednesday, October 22 on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube and all podcast listening platforms - just in time for Halloween.

In “Conversations with Ghosts,” desperate Mausoleum Attendant, Mal Fleming, must convince ghosts to pass through The Onyx Door and to stop haunting the fictional GrayBriar Cemetery. More of an exercise in compassion than an exorcism, Mal sits down with a new ghost to build a portrait of their life, their death, and their afterlife and help them release whatever still ties them to this reality.

Over 17 episodes we meet a frustrated science-fiction writer who died too soon for her work to be recognized; a spirit so faded they don’t remember their own name, a dowager from the Gilded Age who just might be complicit in their murder of her own daughter among others.

“This show is a combination of so many different things that Dan and I love about narrative audio,” said Marc Sollinger (pictured right). “We got to do a bunch of historical research into New York City. We got to work with a cast of incredible actors who delivered really authentic performances. And we got to spend time and care crafting sound design that will transport listeners to another world.” Daniel Powell (pictured left) adds: “I think this brings something new to the podcast space by taking the familiar format of the two-way interview and giving it a fictional, supernatural twist.”

The cast includes Penny O’Brien (Red Dead Redemption II), Michael Cullen (The Truth, FBI, New Amsterdam), Bodine Boling (Movement and Location) Melis Aker (The Equalizer, Blacklist: Redemption) Lori-Felipe Barkin (Totally Spies) and Marc Sollinger (Archive 81.)
