Constipation series launches on IBS-focused podcast
UK registered nutritional therapist and IBS specialist Anna Mapson is launching a new four-part series of her podcast, Inside Knowledge for people with IBS, dedicated to constipation.
The series launches on 6 October 2026, with a new episode released each week on Tuesdays. It will be available globally on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and other major podcast platforms.
Constipation is one of the most frequently requested topics from Mapson’s audience and clients, particularly among people with IBS. It can be accompanied by bloating, abdominal pain, straining and a feeling of incomplete emptying, and the causes are often more complicated than simply not eating enough fibre.
Rather than focusing on a single food or supplement, the four-part series looks at constipation from several different angles, combining nutrition advice with practical lifestyle strategies.
The series covers:
Episode 1: What causes constipation? A look at the different factors that can contribute to constipation, from diet, gut microbes, and movement, to bowel habits and the way the gut functions.
Episode 2: What to eat when you’re constipated. Constipation diets, including fibre, fluids and foods to help support more regular bowel movements, alongside considerations for people with IBS who find that increasing fibre can also increase bloating.
Episode 3: Your morning routine to get things moving. A practical look at the habits that can help encourage a bowel movement in the morning, including eating, drinking, movement and toilet routines.
Episode 4: Non-food support for constipation. Other factors that can influence bowel habits, including supplements, movement, stress. Answering listener questions
“Constipation is probably my most requested topic to talk about, so I’m going to spend four episodes looking at how to get things moving through diet, lifestyle and movement,” says Anna Mapson, registered nutritional therapist and IBS specialist. “There’s so much advice online that focuses on one particular food or supplement. I wanted to give people practical things they can try out at home”
Mapson has over a decade of clinical experience working with people with IBS and other digestive problems. Her approach focuses on helping people understand their symptoms while avoiding unnecessary dietary restriction.
Inside Knowledge for people with IBS is hosted by Mapson and covers the science behind common digestive symptoms, translating research and clinical experience into practical information for people living with IBS and related digestive conditions.
Mapson is also the author of Inside Knowledge for people with IBS and SIBO and runs Goodness Me Nutrition, providing one-to-one nutritional therapy and online educational resources for people with digestive problems.
The four-part constipation series launches 6 October 2026.
