Cadence13 announces exclusive partnership with pop culture phenomenon 'Comments by Celebs'

Press Release · via Cadence13 ·

This article is at least a year old

Leading podcast media company Cadence13 has partnered with “Comments by Celebs,” the groundbreaking culturalphenomenon, conceived and co-founded by 24-year-old Emma Diamond and 22-year-old Julie Kramer, that delivers celebrity news and entertainment in the form of Instagram comments and on their weekly podcast of the same name.

When Instagram changed its algorithm in 2017 to make it easier to see comments by verified accounts across the platform, the two friends and Syracuse graduates formed the @CommentsbyCelebs account in an effort to capture the cheeky and witty comments celebrities post on one another’s posts. Since its inception in 2017, @CommentsbyCelebs has amassed a following of almost one million followers and worldwide recognition, with media and celebrity followers including Gwyneth Paltrow, Katie Couric, John Mayer, Kelly Ripa and Chrissy Teigen.

On the podcast, Emma and Julie use the unique angle of their @CommentsbyCelebs Instagram account to frame the conversation, delving into what’s going on in the world of celebrity comments, and how that translates into real life drama. Having a hard time keeping up with your favorite stars? They’re here to break it all down for listeners, giving their honest, unfiltered approach to what’s going on in Hollywood. With no shortage of games, hypothetical celebrity scenarios and Kardashian updates, they make the gossip both fun and highly relatable. If it’s happening, they’re talking (and Instagramming) about it.

“I love what Emma and Julie have created,” said Chris Corcoran, Chief Content Officer, Cadence13. “Comments by Celebs is a brilliant concept and endlessly fun and engaging for anyone interested in pop culture and the celebrity world.”

On today’s show, Emma and Julie sit down with public relations guru Simon Huck, Owner, Command Entertainment Group (his first podcast interview ever) and talk everything from Miley and Liam’s wedding to Gabrielle Union to Kim + Kanye’s new pad in Miami, Kris Jenner’s amazing dinner parties and gift-giving skills and much more.

Select quotes from this week’s show:

Simon on being a fan of @CommentsbyCelebs:

Simon Huck: ‘I’m such a huge fan [of Comments by Celebs]. I follow over 1500 people [on Instagram], and I follow so many celebrities, so I love to go on your account and see what is going on, who’s following who…it really is like a roundup of gossip for me.”

Emma + Julie on their Instagram history with Simon + why he originally had them blocked:

Emma Diamond: “When we started the account back in 2017, we were, for lack of a better word, thirsty. So when we would post a picture of any celebrity, we also would tag every single person they may be associated with…which we now know is the biggest no-no of the Instagram world. But at the time, we didn’t know what to do – we had 2000 followers and were working on [building our following]. So one day I go to tag Simon and he doesn’t come up…and I texted Julie: ‘I have really tragic news, I think Simon Huck blocked us.’ And Julie said, ‘No, this can’t be happening, this is our worst nightmare…’ and then when you refollowed us…[we were so happy].”

Simon Huck: “In the beginning, you guys were tagging, tagging and it was fine, I just left it on my timeline. I’m not super nitpicky or one of those Instagram wizards who needs everything to be perfectly curated, but you’d be tagging like 50 other people in each one of the posts. So suddenly my timeline was filled with things that have nothing to do with me. It [was] like ‘Blac Chyna claps back!’ and suddenly I’m tagged. So I blocked you guys…this is when you had like three followers, in the beginning. And I didn’t realize I had blocked you, [because]I had been a fan of your account…I had been seeing it in news articles…and then when I posted my Ariana Grande Halloween costume, and four or five other people commented that you guys had posted it, I could not [see it]…I didn’t remember that I had blocked you.”

On Kris Jenner’s amazing dinner parties + her gift-giving skills:

Simon Huck: “Kris is the ultimate host—she is the chicest of hosts. Throws the best parties….you don’t even know the glamour of these dinner parties. She anticipates what every single person at her dinner party will want. Anything from food preferences to the silverware…she is so detail-oriented. And you would think because she’s so busy that she’s not thinking of these little details [but she is].”

Simon Huck: “She’s also the ultimate gift-giver…she shows up on a random Tuesday and it’s your birthday but you haven’t even told her and she’s got a mega-box from Gucci—not like the entry Gucci item, it’s like a piece from the new collection. She is so generous…so is Kim. All the girls are so generous like that. As much success as they’ve had, they share the love.”
