CoHost Releases Annual Report on the State of Podcast Agencies in 2026
CoHost, the podcast analytics platform for brands and agencies, has released its annual State of Podcast Agencies 2026 report, offering a comprehensive look into the podcast agency landscape, client trends, and the challenges shaping the year ahead.
Now in its third edition, the report is based on a survey of 51 podcast agencies across the globe. The findings reflect an industry that’s small but strategic, with 76% of podcast agencies operating with fewer than 10 employees, yet serving clients that range from startups to Fortune 500 brands.
“Podcasting is no longer experimental. Agencies are being asked to deliver measurable results and ROI, not just creative audio,” said Fatima Zaidi, CEO of CoHost and branded podcast agency, Quill. “This year’s report reflects a shift toward data-driven decision-making, strategic repurposing, and deeper integration of podcasting into the broader marketing mix.”
Key findings of the 2026 report:
- Full-service is now the norm: Most agencies handle the full podcast lifecycle, from strategy and scripting to distribution, marketing, and video production.
- Audio still outperforms video: Although video podcasting is on the rise, 35% of agencies say audio-only formats deliver stronger performance, emphasizing the importance of content quality over format trends.
- ROI and analytics are top of mind: Proving podcast impact remains a top challenge for clients. In response, agencies are calling for better attribution tools, listener data, and metrics beyond downloads.
- AI adoption is rising: 92% of agencies now use AI in some part of their workflow, particularly for transcription, show notes, and audio editing.
For brands and agencies looking to benchmark their approach and take a look at predictions for the future, the State of Podcast Agencies 2026 provides actionable insights to inform strategy, resourcing, and growth in an increasingly competitive space.
