Just in time for Climate Week NYC, The Climate Denier’s Playbook returns for its fourth season on September 23, bringing its particular blend of comedy, climate science, and exhaustive research back to the podcast feed.

From the minds that brought you Climate Town, The Climate Denier’s Playbook follows comedians Rollie Williams and Nicole Conlan as they debunk and riff on some of the most pernicious and dumbest climate myths and propaganda.

The Climate Denier’s Playbook is a comedy podcast hosted by Rollie Williams and Nicole Conlan. Combining climate science, policy research, and about $10,000 worth of improv classes, the show uses comedy to debunk the myths and misinformation that surround the climate crisis.

Williams, creator of the Climate Town YouTube channel, and Conlan, a writer for The Daily Show, have known each other since elementary school and spent years making comedy together. Along the way, they each pursued graduate degrees in climate and urban planning: Williams earning a Master’s in Climate Science and Policy from Columbia and Conlan a Master’s in Urban Planning from USC. They eventually brought their shared background in comedy and climate together to create The Climate Denier’s Playbook. Season 4 expands the show’s scope, introducing guests for the first time while continuing its examination of the stories people tell themselves, and each other, about climate change.

Among the myths and claims investigated this season:

• “AI will solve the climate crisis!”
• “The hyperloop is the future of transportation!”
• “They had to call it global warming because climate change was fake!”
• “Golf is draining the water out of Lake Powell!”
• Propaganda videos from the White House and oil companies.

“I saw the video the White House released about auto stop-start, and I was like, ‘That is an almost perfectly wrong video.’” said Rollie Williams. “And anything like that? That’s going on the pod.”

“Our goal with the podcast is to make you feel like you’re hanging out with two funny friends, laughing at the scariest topic imaginable” said Nicole Conlan.

Season 4 consists of 12 episodes, released every two weeks, with episodes running approximately 30–60 minutes. Additional bonus episodes will be available to Patreon supporters.
