Clara Amfo launches podcast Routes with LNER

Press Release · Leeds, UK · via Distorted ·

Routes with Clara Amfo is a brand-new travel and entertainment podcast in collaboration with LNER, premiering on November 7, 2024. Clara dives into a world of travel tales with well-known faces including Tom Grennan, Candice Brathwaite, Babatunde Aleshe, and Arielle Free, as they explore what travel means to them—whether across the LNER East Coast Mainline or beyond.

Not your typical travel show, Routes is both relatable and aspirational. Clara asks her guests about the travel experiences that have shaped them. They discuss their biggest travel moments, childhood memories, career influences, their biggest ‘icks,’ and the weird and wonderful encounters they’ve had along the way.

In the first episode of Routes, Clara’s travel companion is Tom Grennan, who shares memorable travel moments from his life—starting with a very, memorable trip aged 9, a life-changing realisation in Stevenage, a London visit with his mum that kick-started his passion for music, and a behind-the-scenes look into what he gets up to on tour.

Clara Amfo said: “I’m delighted to team up with LNER for the Routes podcast where we get into the fun, personal and sometimes awkward side of travel! Travel has always been my way of embracing new experiences and I love exploring during work and in my downtime. We have a great lineup of guests who all bring their unique and universal takes on what it is to step outside of their usual surroundings, that will hopefully inspire our listeners to do the same!”

Routes is the podcast that will make you want to step out of your front door and into a world of possibilities. Instead of offering dry travel tips, listeners can expect to feel inspired one minute and laugh out loud the next.

Stuart Thomas, LNER’s Communications Director, said: “I’m so excited about the launch of Routes with Clara Amfo, with a stellar guest list and a brilliant host. There’s nothing better than relaxing on one of our trains and listening to a podcast—and I know this one is going straight to the top of my list. As well as being available through all the usual podcast channels, Routes will be available directly onboard LNER services using a seat-back QR code.”

It’s produced by Distorted.
