Chris Peterson Joins Red Seat Ventures as Vice President, Business Development

Press Release ·

Red Seat Ventures, a division of FOX’s Tubi Media Group, today announced that Chris Peterson has been named Vice President of Business Development. In his new role, Peterson will focus on identifying and executing M&A opportunities that scale Red Seat Ventures and FOX’s presence in podcasting and the broader creator economy, building on our existing strengths in content, technology, and monetization. Peterson will report to Chris Balfe, Chief Executive Officer of Red Seat Ventures.

“Chris is a like-minded, long time partner and proven leader with deep experience in the podcasting and creator media space. His track record of indentifying opportunities to build and scale through acquisition and organic growth will serve us well as we look to continue to expand Red Seat Ventures’ and FOX’s position in the market,” said Balfe.

Prior to joining Red Seat Ventures, Peterson most recently served as CEO and Founder of DWNLOAD Media, a strategic advisory firm focused on the podcast industry and creator economy in partnership with Red Seat Ventures. Previously, he was EVP of Podcasting at iHeartMedia, where he created and led the company’s podcast strategy, including the $55M acquisition of HowStuffWorks. He later served as President at LionTree, where he advised on significant podcast-related transactions. Peterson is an experienced investor and advisor in the podcast and media industries, working closely with companies on M&A, monetization strategies, and growth opportunities.
