Atlanta GA, New York NY, USA—Tenderfoot TV, the Atlanta-based content creation company that’s amassed over 300 million downloads with hit podcasts “Up and Vanished” and “Atlanta Monster,” and Cadence13, a leading premium podcast company, will expand their relationship with an exclusive partnership to create a slate of six new and original podcast series to be released beginning this year. The collaboration brings together the hottest creators of true crime podcasts and one of the fastest-growing premium podcast companies to tell more thought-provoking and innovative stories. The new slate will introduce new talent, including bestselling author Neil Strauss as he makes his first foray into narrative podcasting, and will also include a new series voiced by Payne Lindsey, host of “Up and Vanished” and “Atlanta Monster.”

Season 1 of “Up and Vanished” hit the top of the charts shortly after its 2016 debut and led to a major breakthrough in the 10-year-old cold case of missing high school teacher Tara Grinstead of Ocilla, Georgia. Building on the story and momentum of Season 1, Oxygen premiered a television docu-special, executive produced by Tenderfoot TV co-founders Payne Lindsey and Donald Albright, on November 18, 2018.

“Up and Vanished” has garnered over 250 million downloads across Seasons 1 and 2, winning the 2019 iHeartRadio Podcast Award for Best Crime Podcast. Due to new activity generated by the podcast, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation is now actively reinvestigating the disappearance of Crestone, Colorado resident Kristal Anne Reisinger, the case Lindsey focused on in season 2.

Tenderfoot TV’s upcoming podcast slate with Cadence 13 will tackle important and compelling stories, creating content in a variety of genres, including investigating new cases in the space they have helped define: true crime. The lineup will include:

  • A new true crime series written and hosted by award-winning journalist and Rolling Stone contributing editor Neil Strauss, titled “To Live and Die in L.A.” Strauss is a ten-time New York Times bestselling journalist known for going undercover in different communities, from survivalists (Emergency) to pickup artists (The Game) to sex & love addicts (The Truth). He served as a cultural reporter at the New York Times for a decade and has written cover stories for Rolling Stone on everyone from Elon Musk to Tom Cruise to Kurt Cobain (for which he won the ASCAP Deems Taylor Award for Excellence in Journalism). Strauss will bring his investigative writing and storytelling to an audio platform for the first time. In his first foray into narrative podcasting, Strauss’ new series, due for release in February, transports listeners to Hollywood as he attempts to uncover the truth in a riveting criminal investigation, captured in real time.

  • A currently untitled brand-new series executive produced and hosted by Payne Lindsey. Co-founder of Tenderfoot TV and host of hit true crime podcasts “Up and Vanished” and “Atlanta Monster,”Lindsey has chronicled small-town missing persons cases, like that of Tara Grinstead and most recently Kristal Anne Reisinger, and widely known cases, like the Atlanta Child Murders. With a background in documentary filmmaking, Lindsey served as executive producer on Oxygen’s docu-special “Up and Vanished,” based on his investigation of Tara Grinstead in Season 1 of the podcast. In addition to this untitled series, he’s currently executive producer of “Monster: The Zodiac Killer,” the follow-up series derived from 2018’s first breakout hit podcast “Atlanta Monster.”

“The core of what we do at Tenderfoot, no matter the project, is to tell stories in a way that makes people truly listen,” said Payne Lindsey. “This partnership with Cadence 13 opens the door to new creative opportunities, expanding the stories we tell in both the unscripted and scripted spaces. I look forward to continuing to create hard-hitting content that listeners haven’t experienced before.”

“With the success we’re having together on ‘Up and Vanished,’ we’re thrilled to extend our relationship with the hottest production company in the true crime genre and build out an entire slate of new stories,” said Chris Corcoran, Chief Content Officer, Cadence13. “Adding the creative brilliance of Neil Strauss to the slate for the first new series out the gate couldn’t be more exciting.”

“Payne and I started this company out of an apartment with credit cards as our main source of funding. Just two years later, to be able to partner with leading podcast innovator Cadence 13 and build out a slate of six new shows is amazing,” said Donald Albright, co-founder and president of Tenderfoot TV. “Tenderfoot is now in a prime position to scale in a smart and effective way and increase our footprint on the industry.”

United Talent Agency (UTA) brokered the deal on behalf of Tenderfoot TV and Cadence13.
