Trailblazing TV News Editor joins Pod Save the UK to spearhead next stage of growth

Reduced Listening, the London-based podcast company, today announces that Cait FitzSimons, former Editor of 5 News, will be joining as Executive Producer of Pod Save the UK, hosted by Nish Kumar and Coco Khan. From December 2025 Cait will lead the production team and drive the show’s next phase of audience growth and editorial innovation.

Cait brings a standout track record in building news brands and reaching new audiences. During her tenure as Editor of 5 News (2018–2023), she oversaw the programme’s content strategy, led a dynamic and diverse newsroom, and delivered significant audience increases through an expanded flagship programme and a strong digital vision. She also spearheaded initiatives to reach under-served audiences across the UK, using data-driven insights to shape the programmes’s output with distinctive, inclusive journalism.

In a fast-growing field of political podcasts — particularly on the progressive left — Pod Save the UK stands out for its signature mix of humour, hope and credible journalism. Alongside Nish and Coco’s sharp, witty takes on the week’s events, the show features interviews with politicians, campaigners and community leaders with tangible ideas for how to improve life across the UK — without getting bogged down in Westminster point-scoring. Cait joins the team with a brief to deepen this mission and expand the show’s reach.
