“We are thrilled to be recognized by Fast Company as one of the most innovative media companies of 2019,” said partners Spencer Brown, CEO, and Chris Corcoran, Chief Content Officer, Cadence13. “This wouldn’t be possible without the trust and dedication of our incredible partners, the hard work, passion and execution of our entire team, and the creative and innovative environment we promote here at C13.”
Cadence13 experienced record growth in 2018, continuing to build an industry-leading, premium podcast company that brings Oscar-and Emmy-award-winning artists, bestselling authors, seasoned politicos, athletes at the top of their game, digital stars, and many more, to podcasting. As Cadence13 listener engagement, as measured by downloads, has grown by approximately 150% over the past eighteen months, the company continues to take a 360-degree approach to developing, launching, marketing, monetizing, analyzing and growing podcasts. This year, Cadence13 will continue to roll out its data and analytics dashboard to put more insights into the hands of creators.
In June 2018, Cadence13 launched Ramble, a podcast network aligned around digital stars, in partnership with UTA, giving these influential voices the opportunity to expand their respective platforms and reach millions of fans beyond their already popular video and social media platforms. Ramble’s lineup includes Ear Biscuits with Rhett and Link and Pretty Basic with Alisha Marie and Remi Cruz, among others, and will soon be announcing a handful of digital stars to the Ramble programming slate.
Cadence13 expanded its documentary infrastructure this year, directing and producing Root of Evil: The True Story of the Hodel Family and the Black Dahlia, in partnership with TNT. In addition, Cadence13 broadened its partnership with Tenderfoot TV, creators of Up and Vanished, which will feature a slate of six new and original podcast series. Additional Cadence13 partnerships over the past year include Crimetown Presents: The RFK Tapes from Marc Smerling and Zac Stuart-Pontier, Pushkin Industries with Malcolm Gladwell and Jacob Weisberg, goop, TheSkimm; Pull Up with CJ McCollum, Kobe Bryant’s The Punies, Comments by Celebs and many more.
This year, Fast Company’s editors and writers sought out groundbreaking businesses across 35 industries and every region. They also judged nominations received through their application process.
The World’s Most Innovative Companies is Fast Company’s signature franchise and one of its most highly anticipated editorial efforts of the year. It provides both a snapshot and a road map for the future of innovation across the most dynamic sectors of the economy.
“Established players are showing the same kind of nimbleness that we’ve generally associated with startups,” said Fast Company deputy editor David Lidsky, who oversaw the issue with senior editor Amy Farley.
Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies issue (March-April 2019) is now available online at https://www.fastcompany.com/MIC, as well as in app form via iTunes and on newsstands beginning February 27th. The hashtag is #fcmostinnovative.
