Introducing BumbleCast™️: An innovative, independent voice in podcasting

Press Release · San Francisco CA, USA ·

This article is at least a year old

Veteran podcast producer Eric Johnson (formerly of Vox Media) announced the launch of an independent podcasting company called BumbleCast, which will produce original shows, and help creators and organizations achieve their podcasting goals.

Its motto is: “We make podcasts better.”

Although starting a podcast is easy, making a podcast is hard, and BumbleCast will work with clients one-on-one to help them succeed. BumbleCast exists to help all kinds of people — solo artists, tiny startups, global companies, non-profits, universities, politicians, and more — create new podcasts that will last, or improve the podcasts that they’ve already launched.

“As the founder of BumbleCast, I’m excited to share my podcasting experience and expertise with others,” said Johnson, who produced the award-winning Vox Media podcast Recode Decode with Kara Swisher from 2015 to 2020. ”Everyone who’s making something for the internet has to consider podcasting, but most people don’t know where to start, or where to go for help. That’s why we created BumbleCast."

Swisher, now the host of the New York Times podcast Sway and co-host of the New York Magazine podcast Pivot, said Johnson is “creative, helpful, careful, funny, innovative, and a pleasure to work with.”

“He knows podcasting and he knows how to do it right,” Swisher commented. “I could not recommend him any more strongly.”

BumbleCast is launching with a list of clear, common-sense values, with a goal of encouraging originality, diversity, and compassion in the podcasting space. For example, it offers discounted consulting rates to independent creators who have been historically under-represented in the media, including women, LGBTQ+ people, people over the age of 60, and Black/Indigenous/People of Color.

BumbleCast launched its consulting business today. Its first original podcast will launch in Q1 2021.
