Nominees for each of the categories will be featured in a British Podcast Awards audio series for The Guardian, with all episodes being featured in their Culture Podcast channel.

Matt Hill, co-founder of the BPAs says: “We’re delighted to be working with The Guardian again, we want to be able to spread the word about the UK’s great podcasts and this series will definitely help us do just that.”

The winner from each of the BPAs categories will be eligible to win the coveted Podcast of the Year Award.

Comedian Nish Kumar has also been announced as the Chair of Judges for 2018. Nish is a regular co-host on The Bugle podcast and presents The Mash Report for BBC2.

Nish says: “It’s a honour to be passed the baton from Helen Zaltzman to lead the judging panel for this year’s British Podcast Awards. And just like other leaders, I will cram it with my own, like-minded appointments. So I hope you’re all making podcasts about Frank Ocean. Good luck everybody!”

Matt Deegan co-founder of the BPAs says: “Last year we had an amazing response to the British Podcast Awards and we’ve worked hard to make this year even bigger. We’re excited to have Nish on board and have some more amazing announcements to make soon. Right now, we encourage UK podcasters to get entering!”.
