Cambridge University Press launches new education podcast series

A new education podcast from Cambridge University Press, one of the world’s leading university presses, will bring together the very best educational experts to discuss topics affecting teachers around the world.
The Brighter Thinking Pod consists of teachers, authors, key subject figures and other educational thinkers covering the topics teachers have told us they care about most. These include the challenge of differentiation in mixed ability classes, tips for second language learning and the future of education.
Michael McGarvey, Director for Cambridge Learning for Schools at Cambridge University Press, said: ‘With the Brighter Thinking Pod, we wanted to provide a place where international education enthusiasts from all backgrounds could come together to discuss the challenges faced by teachers in a modern classroom.’
‘We are committed to advancing knowledge worldwide and unlocking the potential of as many classrooms as possible. We believe the podcast gives us an exciting new avenue to do this, while opening up a creative space for teachers to discover new ideas, as well as share their own.’
The first episode focuses on the teaching approach, active learning, and features Paul Ellis, Head of Teaching and Learning at the exams group Cambridge Assessment, and Dr Mark Winterbottom, Senior Lecturer in Education. The Press will be releasing a new episode every Thursday over the next six weeks.
Guests include futurist and author of Teaching for Tomorrow, Michael McQueen, Sue Bodman and Glen Franklin of the UCL Institute of Education, and a range of educators from the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education including Dr Linda Fisher and Dr Fiona Maine.
