A new web application named BDG Scan has officially launched to the global market to improve the technical and analytical operations of podcast creators. Inspired by the Podcast X-Ray from Bumper, this public tool performs a complete sweep of a podcast’s specifications to deliver a detailed diagnostic report to the user. The platform reveals critical background information, including the hosting server being used and the specific analytics prefixes tracking the RSS feed, such as Podtrac, Podscribe, or Spotify Ad Analytics. Beyond basic infrastructure details, the system cross-references data from multiple sources, including the Apple Podcasts API, OP3, Podcast Index, and Listen Notes, to create a centralized technical scan of any given show.
The major differentiator of BDG Scan for creators is the introduction of a unique content delivery consistency metric. The application analyzes the feed’s posting history and calculates a score from zero to one hundred to evaluate the podcaster’s publishing reliability. The system’s algorithm takes into consideration the number of posts per week, the intervals between episodes, and the punctuality in maintaining the exact publication schedule. Based on these continuous attributes, the creator receives a clear score to understand how their podcast is performing regarding consistency, which is widely considered a crucial factor for audience retention and growth.
Operating the tool is simple for the end-user. A creator only needs to type the name of the podcast, and the system instantly retrieves the information. The platform’s architecture anticipates different implementation phases.
