New York NY, USA—Pushkin Industries, the audio production company co-founded by Jacob Weisberg and Malcolm Gladwell, and Axios, the digital media company co-founded by Jim VandeHei, Mike Allen, and Roy Schwartz, are launching Axios Today, a daily podcast that starts your morning with the news that matters in just 10 minutes. The first episode will drop on Monday, June 22, and the show will be available on all podcast platforms. Every weekday, host Niala Boodhoo and a team of award-winning journalists will prepare a daily rundown of the latest scoops from the White House and Congress, analysis on the economy, and insight into the trends shaping your world -- from China to AI.
“Axios was born out of a mission to put the audience first and give them a smart and efficient way to consume the information they need for their day,” said Boodhoo. “I am very excited to be part of bringing their Smart Brevity format to audio.”
“I read Axios AM every day because it’s such an efficient and enjoyable way to get a handle on what’s happening – and why it matters. Pushkin is helping translate the unique Axios approach to news into dynamic audio storytelling,” said Jacob Weisberg, Pushkin Co-founder and CEO. “This partnership is an opportunity for two growing startups to create something compelling and new.”
Axios Today is produced by: Carol Alderman (senior producer), formerly of the Washington Post’s audio team; Nuria Marquez Martinez (associate producer), Cara Shillenn (associate producer), and Alex Sugiura (sound engineer). Sara Kehaulani Goo (Axios Executive Editor), Leital Molad (Pushkin VP of Content Development) and Weisberg are the Executive Producers.
