A new Executive Director at The Podcast Academy

The Podcast Academy is proud to announce Ami Thakkar as its new Executive Director.

Ami steps into the role at a pivotal moment for both TPA and the podcast industry—bringing a deep commitment to creators, a sharp understanding of the business of audio, and a clear vision for how the Academy can continue to grow as the home for excellence in podcasting.

With a background that spans storytelling, brand partnerships, and community building, Ami has built a career across the corporate, legal, media, and nonprofit worlds, and has lived and worked in India, Dubai, and across the United States. She holds a degree in Economics from the University of Texas and a law degree from DePaul University, bringing strategic rigor and global perspective to her leadership. As the creator and host of Tuckered Out with Ami Thakkar—a podcast centered on honest conversations about ambition, burnout, and reinvention—she remains an active participant in the podcasting ecosystem, with firsthand insight into the creative, business, and cultural realities facing audio makers today.

As Executive Director, Ami will lead the Academy’s strategic direction, oversee its signature programs—including The Ambies® Awards—and focus on strengthening TPA’s role as a trusted, inclusive institution that supports creators, celebrates innovation, and elevates audio storytelling around the world.
