American Tributaries becomes first show to host conversations with guests living in all 50 states

Today, the American Tributaries podcast, hosted by Brooklyn resident Michael Whidden, became the first podcast to dedicate at least one episode to conversation with a guest residing in each U.S. state. The milestone, only possible because of each guest’s openness of to participate with candor and an open-heart and -mind, is a testament to unity and fellowship.

The objective of the podcast is to use modern technology to explore the various currents of people in our country by having conversations with everyday folks with different backgrounds, living in different areas and/or pursuing different livelihoods.

The show is supra-political, believing that to effectively discuss complex issues, we must first strive to understand each other and our multitude of varied contexts.

The first episode was uploaded in March 2022. There have been almost 13,000 views or downloads. Guests include professors, a naval officer, army sergeants, a waitress, an auto shop owner, an FDNY captain, a Congressional staffer, restaurateurs, authors, a mayor, a nurse, a tribal elder, a Christmas tree seller, a cattle rancher, a JPL scientist, a deli owner, a sportscaster, a jewelry designer, a photographer, a psychotherapist, an educator and a paleontologist.

The podcast is a production of American Tributaries, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting fellowship among Americans through domestic travel for high school students.
