Almost Tangible has been named Production Company of The Year by the New York Festivals Radio Awards, with their production of Macbeth receiving a Grand Trophy and 4 Gold Trophies for Best Digital Drama, Best Drama Podcast, Best Director and Best Sound. Previous winners include BBC, Canadian Broadcasting Co., Guardian Australia, and TBI Media.
Thanks to smart phones, technological advances and a demand for entertainment with more connectivity, the rising popularity of audio isn’t surprising. Almost Tangible want to do things differently; creating extraordinary, immersive, next- generation audio experiences with unforgettable stories that connect with theatre, film and podcast aficionados around the world.
Recording on location with a full cast and crew, Almost Tangible has taken the traditional audio play or podcast to the next level while using the accessibility of the medium to reach new audiences. Working with the latest technology in 360 binaural sound recording, their production model is similar to the process of film-making in terms of attention to detail and creative resources. Their inaugural production Macbeth, recorded at Glamis Castle in Scotland, where Shakespeare set his iconic story, has had more than 50K downloads.
