Glasgow Podcast Wins Global Recognition as ‘People’s Choice’ in Outdoor Media Awards

Press Release · Glasgow, Scotland ·

Adventure Diaries, the podcast created and hosted by Scottish podcaster Chris Watson (centre right, above), has won the People’s Choice Award for Best Podcast at the prestigious Outdoor Media Awards - an annual celebration of content creators making an impact across the global outdoor industry.

The Outdoor Media Awards, held each autumn at the Outdoor Media Summit, recognise excellence in storytelling and innovation in the outdoor space. This year’s competition drew over 20,000 votes worldwide, with Adventure Diaries taking the top spot in the People’s Choice category.

Adventure Diaries is a fast-rising podcast that turns real-life tales of adventure, exploration, and the natural world into practical invitations for listeners to act. Each episode features a guest who issues a ‘Call to Adventure’ - an accessible challenge that listeners can do that week, and a ‘Pay It Forward’ action designed to protect wild places and support outdoor causes.

Adventure Diaries creator and podcaster Chris Watson commented. “Winning this award means so much because it comes from the people who listen and connect with Adventure Diaries. To know that these stories of adventure and connection are resonating with others is incredibly special. It reinforces why I started the podcast in the first place - to get people outdoors, living more adventurously and to share that sense of possibility and belonging, no matter who you are or where you start.”

First launched in 2017, the Outdoor Media Awards have become one of the most respected honours in the outdoor industry. Past winners include global adventure filmmakers, photographers, and environmental storytellers.

Yoon Kim, founder of Outdoor Media Summit, commented: “Adventure Diaries has struck a chord with listeners around the world. Chris’s approach to storytelling, making adventure feel inclusive, personal, and real, reflects what the People’s Choice Award is all about. This year’s vote showed just how much the outdoor community values voices that make the outdoors feel open to everyone.”

With fans voting from around the globe, Scotland’s very own Adventure Diaries podcast continues to prove how much its stories of adventure and caring for the outdoors resonate with listeners across every corner of the world.
