AdLarge Extends Partnership with Ashley Flowers’ Hit Podcast Crime Junkie and Newly Launched audiochuck Network

PRESS RELEASE

New York NY, USA—AdLarge Media announces it has extended its ad sales agreement for Ashley Flowers’ breakout true crime sensation Crime Junkie, the consistently top-ranked podcast with more than 31 million downloads a month. Adlarge is also lending its support to further grow Flowers’ audiochuck Network with four new shows, all executive produced by Flowers. The first show from this partnership, CounterClock, debuted at #1 on the Apple Podcasts chart earlier this year. Crime Junkie and CounterClock are part of an award-winning portfolio of podcasts in AdLarge’s digital audio business, cabana.

“Crime Junkie has captivated female audiences with Ashley’s unique approach to true crime,” stated Cathy Csukas, Co-Founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer of cabana and AdLarge Media. “Her insights into what passionate true crime fans want to hear will be an asset as we bring on new titles to audiochuck Network. We’re thrilled to expand our relationship with Ashley.”

“With audiochuck, we will bring more content like Crime Junkie and CounterClock that satisfies true crime fans’ appetite for a different take on the genre,” explained Flowers. “AdLarge has been with me from the start, and I couldn’t be happier that they will continue to bring their audio ad sales expertise to Crime Junkie and the audiochuck Network.”

“Ashley has a pulse on the business and is deeply instinctual about what engages audiences. We are confident that the collaboration between Audiochuck and cabana will propel her ever-evolving brand and contribute to delivering more untold and compelling stories,” noted Oren Rosenbaum, Head of Emerging Platforms at United Talent Agency (UTA).

A long-time true crime enthusiast, Flowers is on the Board of Directors for CrimeStoppers of Central Indiana. She brought on childhood BFF and fellow true crime devotee Brit Prawat to co-host Crime Junkie, and her unique story-telling style created a phenomenon in the true crime genre.

CounterClock, which has been a chart topper since its debut, is the most recent of many titles to be hand-picked by Flowers for audiochuck Network. Hosted by investigative journalist Delia D’ambra, CounterClock’s first season explores an unsolved murder in a small coastal town in North Carolina. The second season is currently in development.

Flowers was named one of the Best Storytellers in Podcasting in 2019 by the Podcast Business Journal and described as an “engaging storyteller” by Rolling Stone Magazine. In February, 2020, Crime Junkie ranked #3 in Media Monitors’ Top 25 Podcasts and #5 in the first All-Inclusive Podcast Ranker, published by Edison Research. Crime Junkie consistently is in the Top 5 podcasts on Apple and Spotify, and was also included in Spotify’s Top Songs, Artists, Playlists, and Podcasts of 2018 and 2019. With over 220K reviews, Crime Junkie was named 2019’s most reviewed podcast by Chartable, an industry-leading podcast measurement company.

“The ROI from Crime Junkie has been tremendous for our advertisers,” said Ilwira Marciszek, Vice President of Digital Sales & Partnerships for cabana and AdLarge Media. “The premium ad opportunities available with Crime Junkie are trusted by our ad partners and will only expand with Audiochuck Network, which will bring more engaged listeners at scale.”
