Celebrate ADHD Awareness Month with a veteran podcaster

Press Release · Nashville, TN, USA ·

October is ADHD Awareness Month, a time to celebrate neurodiversity, remove stigmas, and share success stories. ADHD Wise Squirrels, a popular podcast dedicated to late-diagnosed adults with ADHD, is celebrating with over 50,000 downloads and counting. Since its launch, the acclaimed podcast has been a valuable resource for adults with ADHD, offering insights, support, and community.

“This is my most popular podcast since my first podcast, Two Boobs and a Baby, back in 2005.” Says host Dave Delaney. He jokes, “Had I been diagnosed and treated for my ADHD back then, I would have stuck with one podcast and would now be found kicking back on a mountaintop with Joe Rogan, Marc Maron, and Tim Ferriss. But that’s okay because ADHD Wise Squirrels is the most important show I’ve created in nearly twenty years of podcasting.”

ADHD Wise Squirrels’ mission is to remove stigmas and provide resources for late-diagnosed adults with ADHD. The podcast covers various topics, including coping strategies, personal stories, expert interviews, and practical advice. In its first year, the podcast for neurodiverse adults with ADHD has featured notable guests such as Dr. Bob Dempsey, the former director of NASA’s International Space Station, who was diagnosed at sixty; best-selling author and entrepreneur Peter Shankman; Dr. T ara Rosier, author of the renowned book, 'Your Brain’s Not Broken’; and Nancy Armstrong, the executive producer of the award-winning ADHD documentary, 'THE DISRUPTORS.'

ADHD Wise Squirrels also chronicles the host, Dave Delaney, 's late diagnosis of ADHD at fifty years old. Delaney, a veteran in podcasting, started his first podcast in 2005, nearly 20 years ago, bringing a wealth of experience and insight to ADHD Wise Squirrels. Delaney is a former speaker for Google, a published author, and an acclaimed keynote speaker who has developed The Root Down, an ADHD-inspired presentation and process for neurodiverse and neurotypical audiences.

"While every month should be ADHD-awareness month, October is the perfect time to teach the world about our strengths. My goal is to provide a supportive space for adults with ADHD, and I’m proud of the kind reviews and emails I have received that prove Wise Squirrels is making a positive impact on lives.”

ADHD is common among entrepreneurs and creatives. Individuals with ADHD are 60-80 percent more likely to have entrepreneurial intentions and nearly 100 percent more likely to start a business.

According to Dr. Russell Barkley, Ph.D., “ADHD can reduce life expectancy by as much as thirteen years, but its risk is reversible.” Learn more at wisesquirrels.com/life and listen to ADHD Wise Squirrels wherever you enjoy podcasts.
