London, UK—Acast today announces the hire of Georgina Holt as Managing Director for the UK, Ireland and ROW regions. Holt joins from The Stylist Group, following a three-year stint where she was most recently Executive Director of Stylist Studios, and will be responsible for driving commercial and content growth for Acast — cementing its position as the leading global podcast company and building on its 100% year-on-year revenue growth.

Acast’s content catalogue is one of the world’s biggest and most impressive, with more than 215 million listens each month on every podcast platform from Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts to Spotify, and was recently strengthened by the addition of Sh**ged, Married, Annoyed — one of the UK’s most-listened-to podcasts. Alongside her sales responsibilities, Holt will continue to grow this portfolio and add new shows to the Acast network.

Her near 20-year media and publishing career spans the best-known news and magazine brands around, with Holt leading and delivering the successful strategic and commercial transformation for the likes of Stylist and Cosmopolitan.

Ross Adams, Acast’s CEO, said: “The most important thing for us in every new hire we make is a cultural fit — it’s our number one priority as we look to maintain and grow as a business, and it was clear very early on that Georgina was exactly who we were looking for. Our sales and podcast teams are our biggest teams in every market in which we operate, so her background will also prove vital as we look to build on our offering for publishers, independent podcasters and advertisers alike.

“Naturally, it’s difficult to find senior talent with experience of a pure podcasting background, as the medium is still so young — so, as a challenger brand, we also look for leaders who have the ethos and attitude to bring something new to the table while ensuring we continue our global success. Georgina is the perfect person for the role.”

Georgina added: “As a company that works with the best names in podcasting worldwide, it was an easy decision to join the Acast team. You just have to look at the likes of Off Menu, The Adam Buxton Podcast, and My Dad Wrote A Porno — not to mention shows from the BBC, the Financial Times, Vice and many more publishers — to see Acast is the global home of podcasting.

“At a rapidly changing time for all us, Acast’s continued energy and enthusiasm for podcasting — combined with its unrelenting commitment to bringing the most innovative opportunities to advertisers and creators — is why the success it has achieved for the past five years will continue long into the future.”

Joe Copeman, who previously held the role in tandem with his position as Global SVP of Sales, will now focus solely on the latter, leading Acast’s commercial efforts in all markets globally. He was one of a team of four who launched Acast in the UK market in 2014, and has held positions including Director of Sales and UK Country Manager.
