Gamut Podcast Network to Launch 22 Hours: A Second Look — the 4th Season of Smash Hit True Crime Series American Nightmares
Gamut Podcast Network today announced the relaunch and new season of its critically acclaimed true crime series American Nightmares. The new season, 22 Hours: A Second Look, revisits the story that originally catapulted the show to #2 on Apple Podcasts and earned recognition as one of the best podcasts of 2019 by the Associated Press.
The season revisits the haunting case of a D.C. power couple, their 10-year-old son, and their housekeeper—held hostage for nearly 24 hours before being murdered inside their home, in what became known locally as “the mansion murders.” Now, 10 years after the crime and six years after the story was first told, Season 1 returns with all-new content, fresh interviews, and exclusive updates that shed new light on a case that still resonates today.
In this new edition, host Megan Cloherty revisits the case a decade later, adding deeply personal stories from those closest to the victims and revealing what has happened since the trial.
“Telling this story changed me,” said Cloherty. “Revisiting it ten years later, with new voices and new context, made me realize how much it continues to affect the people left behind. This second look is as much about their resilience as it is about the crime itself.”
One of the most notable additions is the first-ever interview with Abigail Savopoulos, a surviving daughter of the family, who was a senior in high school when the murders occurred. She shares her memories, her journey through grief, and how her family continues to influence her life today. The series also explores the fate of the family’s home, updates on convicted killer Darren Wint, and insights into the ethical choices the original production team faced while covering the case.
“This story gripped the nation when it happened, and the emotional impact has never really faded,” said John Goforth, VP/GM of Gamut Podcast Network. “With 22 Hours: A Second Look, we’re giving listeners both the investigative depth they loved in the original and a deeper, more human perspective on what happened next. It’s exactly the kind of powerful storytelling Gamut is built to deliver.”
American Nightmares is part of Gamut’s expanding slate of high-quality, narrative-driven podcasts designed to captivate national audiences while honoring the stories being told.
New episodes will drop every Tuesday starting September 2.
