PodFest Cairo 2025

By Kim Fox

Now in its sixth edition, PodFest Cairo 2025 will take place on Tuesday, 6 May from 6 to 9 p.m. in Oriental Hall at The American University in Cairo’s (AUC) historic Tahrir Campus. AUC’s Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (JRMC) is hosting the event.

This year’s event will feature a mix of panels, curated audio listening sessions and opportunities to connect with creators, educators and media professionals.

From conversations on the state of podcasting in Egypt to a behind-the-scenes look at podcast production spaces and consulting, PodFest Cairo 2025 promises to deliver on engaging dialogue and networking. Additionally, listening sessions will feature award-winning audio pieces by Egyptian student producers recognized in the 2025 Broadcast Education Association (BEA) Festival of Media Arts.

Organized by AUC’s JRMC’s Professor of Practice Kim Fox, PodFest Cairo remains the country’s only dedicated podcasting conference and a leading space for celebrating Arabic and English audio storytelling. Whether you’re a podcaster, journalist, media student or curious listener, you are more than welcome to be a part of the PodFest Cairo 2025 community.

PodFest Cairo is free and open to the public. Sessions will be held in English and/or Arabic with simultaneous translation provided.
