By Transducer Audio
This workshop explores 'honestly held opinion’ and 'public interest’ defences to defamation charges as a prelude to exploring some of the technicalities of reporting on court proceedings. More than not just defaming either party, reporting on court proceedings requires some knowledge of the law, not just to understand what is happening inside the court, but also because of specific legal restrictions including suppression orders, legislative restrictions, and sub judice contempt.
