Launch a newsletter for your podcast CHALLENGE
By Arielle Nissenblatt
Podcasters, do you have a newsletter or an email that reaches your listeners? You should.
Here are some stats as to why:
- From beehiiv: https://blog.beehiiv.com/p/podcast-email-newsletter
- The Wave: https://thewavepodcasting.com/articles/why-you-need-a-newsletter-for-marketing-a-podcast

When people listen to our shows on Apple, Spotify, and other podcast apps, we see that data reflected in our hosting provider but we don’t actually know who our listeners are unless they say “hey, I’m listening!” by way of social media comments, reviews…etc.
But, if we ask for and then capture their email addresses via a newsletter / Substack, we have permission to email them (hopefully with worthwhile, consistent, and not-too-frequent) updates, ideas, links…etc.
Enter: The Podcast Newsletter Accountability Challenge!
Once you’ve made up your mind — you’re starting a newsletter, or at least want to set up a newsletter for future use — the challenge begins. In one day, with just a few hours of concentrated work, you’ll have the building blocks to your podcast newsletter: an email service provider, a name for your newsletter, a log line, a draft of upcoming issues, and written copy to share with your audience to spread the word.
So how does this work? You’ll buy into the challenge at $75 or less (sliding scale, minimum of $15). On Friday, July 18th, everyone who commits to the challenge will gather on Slack and be sent the how-to resource document and a checklist to help guide them through setting up their newsletter, with access to me (and the other attendees) throughout the day to ask questions…
The best part? At the end of the day, once you present your finished work (or work in progress), you’ll get 50% of your accountability money returned to you!

Hi! I’m Arielle — I’m a podcast marketer, newsletter nerd, and the founder of EarBuds Podcast Collective, a weekly podcast recommendation newsletter that’s been running since 2017. I’ve worked on audience development and marketing for dozens of podcasts and networks, and I believe strongly that newsletters are one of the most effective — and underused — tools podcasters can tap into.
I’ve helped podcasters at every level start and grow their newsletters, and I’m excited to help you do the same. Whether you want to grow your show, drive more community, or just have a space to share your voice outside the feed, this challenge is for you.
