Defamation Pt 2 and Reporting on Court Proceedings
By Transducer Audio
This seminar explores 'honestly held opinion’ and 'public interest’ defences to defamation charges as a prelude to exploring some of the technicalities of reporting on court proceedings. More than not just defaming either party, reporting on court proceedings requires some knowledge of the law, not just to understand what is happening inside the court, but also because of specific legal restrictions including suppression orders, legislative restrictions, and sub judice contempt.
Although some aspects of defamation law were explored in a previous seminar, you will not need to have any prior knowledge of this area in order to benefit from this seminar!
