AtlanticAthletic, the New York Times's sports publication, has cut back on local sports podcasts. Niemen Lab says that The Athletic told writers they’re free to relaunch their podcasts elsewhere and monetise as they see fit.
- Jul 20: Here's what else you need to know today - The Daily Football Briefing is new from The Athletic. Just ten minutes long, it's "the first Athletic podcast designed specifically for a post-pandemic audience that commutes less and demands more". The show is updated overnight UK time.
