- Apr 7: Podtrac released its March US podcast rankings. Among the most popular podcasts, NPR News Now has overtaken The Daily; and VINCE has debuted into the chart at #7 - the show is by Vince Coglianese, and has taken over Dan Bongino’s feed.
- Apr 2: Exclusive Apple Podcasts remains the #1 app in the US for podcast downloads for the biggest shows, according to new data from Podtrac. In a presentation this morning (keynote stage 9am) at Evolutions in Chicago, our Editor will reveal data showing that - even with YouTube views - Apple is still the largest podcast app out there for the 250 biggest shows.
- Mar 7: Podtrac has published its rankers for February. The Daily is #1 participating podcast in the US, overtaking NPR News Now.
- Feb 27: Putting the 1 billion number in context, Spotify claimed just 120mn monthly podcast listeners in November. Apple Podcasts is likely to be smaller in terms of monthly listeners, according to Podtrac in Jan 2023: but Apple Podcasts had a significantly higher share of downloads.
- Feb 21: SiriusXM and Wondery have reportedly opted out of Podtrac and Triton Digital’s US rankers. The companies complain that the rankers only measure audience size using RSS downloads.
