- Aug 25: A website called "PodSubs" sent us a press release wanting our promotion: it apparently runs newsletters for podcasts. The website certainly looked nice - but a closer look revealed that none of the examples on the website actually worked, the "PodSubs has been featured in..." press links were entirely made-up publications that didn't exist, the "real PodSubs pages" didn't actually exist either (despite apparently having more than 4,000 customers), and the whole website's layout, colours and fonts seemed remarkably similar to Podpage - except Podpage actually exists (and, guess what, offers email mailing list integration). PodSub's author has evasively responded to our questions through a verbose AI bot; and removed its company name from its terms of use after we started asking why the referenced company didn't exist. In our opinion: run, run away.
- Jul 16: Podpage has added two new AI writing tools, as part of a set of new features. The tools are built to write blog posts, as well as to write your "about page", too.
- Jul 15: Podpage has today added an automatic SEO Boost tool, which optimises titles and adds descriptions, keywords and takeaways to your podcast's episode pages. It's part of a set of tools the company is releasing this week.
- Jul 14: Podpage has launched episode alerts by email - alerting your listeners when you publish new episodes. It's a simple way to reach listeners with new content as soon as you've published it.
- Jul 9: A tool that makes websites for your podcast, Podpage has made what it calls "the biggest update yet", including SEO features that can "autofix" your SEO to make sure more people find it, an "autopilot" to produce more SEO metadata to ensure Google (and other things) will find your show, and a whole heap more things to come this week, we're promised.
