- Aug 28: Audacy is to close its podcast hosting and monetisation service, Audacy Creator Lab, on Nov 1. Launched as Podcorn in 2019, which was acquired by Audacy for $22.5mn in 2021, the new "Creator Lab" was announced at Podcast Movement Evolutions in Apr 2025 - making some podcasting companies angry at its marketing tactics. It announced YouTube integration this March. There appear to be just 426 shows hosted on Audacy Creator Lab in the Podcast Index, though you could also take part in the Creator Lab Marketplace wherever you were hosted.
- Jan 23: Beamly now supports analytics prefixes from five new providers: OP3, Podtrac, Spotify Ad Analytics, Podscribe and Podcorn. The service also has integrated with Zapier.
- Jun 27, 2025: Audacy shut Cadence13 (a $50mn purchase) in Mar 2024, and rebranded Podcorn ($22.5mn) as Audacy Creator Lab in April this year. Meanwhile, Audacy’s purchase of Moonbeam, a podcast discovery app in Jul 2022, also appears to have come to nothing: the website is now owned by a company in Ukraine. An Audacy spokesperson didn’t return our request for more detail about Moonbeam.
- Apr 18, 2025: Audacy’s Podcorn, now called Audacy Creator Lab, has been accused by some podcast hosting companies of dirty tactics. Podcorn partnered with a number of podcast hosting companies to offer monetisation opportunities for their customers; but, when the company rebranded to Audacy Creator Lab and added a free podcast hosting service themselves, Audacy emailed those customers directly, encouraging them to switch hosting company. A cautionary warning to anyone to insist on non-solicitation clauses when setting up partnerships, perhaps.
- Apr 2, 2025: Audacy announced the Audacy Creator Lab. It’s a enhancement of Podcorn, which the company acquired in 2021, and will offer free “limitless” hosting and monetisation services for emerging podcasters.
