Feb 11: Descript has changed its logo to be red, not blue. Apparently it's "in honor of the record button". It has also added transcription in British English, which would spell the word "honor" ~~correctly~~ differently.
Jan 13: YouTube rolled out A/B tests for thumbnails and episode titles (Descript has a blog post about it). "We really have no way to prove these are related, but since trying A/B test, our podcast has +47% more views," says Headliner in its newsletter. (Podnews readers get "buy one get one free")
Jan 7: Descript has announced a new version of its AI assistant, Underlord. The tool can be used for editing tasks. The newer version produces better edits while using 20% fewer credits.
Nov 14, 2025: You can now create and save your own templates in Descript. The service also supports more languages for translation and dubbing.
Nov 7, 2025: Christiana Cromer has left Descript. “I will certainly remain a user and community member. Keep making cool stuff!! It matters!” She’d been with them for nearly four years.
